Pulmonary actinomycosis
Pulmonary actinomycosis is a rare bacterium that infects the lungs. These bacteria are normally found in the mouth and digestive tract, where they usually do not cause damage. However, the lack of dental hygiene and dental abscess can increase the risk for the face, jaw, and lung infections caused by bacteria.
Alcohol abuse, has a scar on the lungs (bronchiectasis), and emphysema associated with actinomycosis. Actinomycosis in the lungs causes lung cavities, spots on lungs, and pleural effusion. The disease is rare in any age, but most patients are aged 30-60 years. Men get this infection more often than women do.

The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) weighs in with a recent contribution – Generic Atorvastatin and Health Care Costs – NEJM.
The aforementioned provides a savings analysis with regard to projected generic medication use of atorvastatin. However, the analysis is made somewhat moot since overall consideration is not given to the increase in costs on the medical benefits end – when persons with non typical metabolism need repeated visits to the doctor or hospitalization as a result of their switch from brand medication to the generic counterpart.
