Author Because the medical school admissions process has become so competitive, it has never been more difficult getting accepted to medical school as it is today. Every year, the number of applications increases while the number of seats stays the same. Last year, over forty thousand people applied and less than 50% were accepted. Now more than ever, it takes much more than simply great grades and extracurricular activities. It requires in an in-depth knowledge of the process, an ability to get glowing personal recommendations and most importantly, well crafted and insightful writing ability.

The National Institutes of Health, often known as NIH, is an independent agency operating inside the United States Department of Health and Human services that’s mainly responsible for pursuing many of the country’s biomedical and health-related scientific studies.
The mission of the NIH has always been to “seek fundamental understanding of the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce the burdens of illness and disability.”
